by CCI since January 1998.
Bachelors (degree in any field) program graduates who meet all Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) prerequisites can qualify to sit for the Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) National Exam.
CCI Notice Effective August 1, 2008, a

existing CRNFA eligibility requirements, will be accepted in
order to sit for the CRNFA exam. Prior to this date, a
bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), or in its absence a master’s

encourage all to obtain a bachelors and sit for the CRNFA
exam which is the 'Gold Standard' in RNFA in the nation.
However, for those of you who cannot sit for CRNFA, NIFA has
secured another exam for those of you whose facility's
require certification in the assisting role called the

found at
www.assistantcertification.com. Remember: RNAS-C is only
an alternative for those who cannot sit for the desired
