Were you aware that RNFA
students can log their 120 internship hours on a missionary trip?* Yes, any trip that
you could log* major first assisting cases. Please understand that NIFA
cannot specifically arrange surgical missions for its students or graduates with Dr. Geelhoed
or any other surgical mission organization. Whereas many of you were
hoping to assist Dr. Geelhoed personally; he typically has his own first
assistants already scheduled in the foreseeable future.
If you are interested in working with Dr. Geelhoed,
please visit www.missiontoheal.org and go
through the Volunteer application process to find out if they can use
your services. Other surgical mission organizations.
*(The appropriateness of logging your cases on a Medical
Mission would vary from student to student and your competency levels. It would be optimum for your to
approach your NIFA instructor at your scheduled Workshop to have them help you
ascertain your skill levels before
moving forward with a surgical mission).
