AORN 2007 Salary Survey finds that RNFAs
average 14% more than a regular staff nurse. Below are some
new NIFA graduate comments.
"I
must say that I currently make 30% or more money than the average operating room
nurse, because of being an RNFA. My current position allows me to work smarter
not harder and I even have an expense account. I strongly believe that in my
career NIFA and its education was the key to me advancing in the profession of
Perioperative nursing. The fundamentals that I learned in your program laid the
foundation for me to excel as a RNFA. I have never once regretted taking the big
step to become a RNFA and have literally worked with some of the top Cardiac,
Cardiac transplant and Trauma surgeons from all over the world. If it were not
for NIFA, I would never have had these opportunities to make more than the
average OR nurse and be able to travel doing what I love to do and that is to
help one patient at a time."
Lisa Donaldson, RNFA, BABC (2008)
"Being
employed as a hospital-based RNFA has both significantly
raised my income as well as changed my life for the good. My
annual salary has increased approximately $20,000 while my hours
worked have decreased.
There is no
greater satisfaction than doing the work you love, being appreciated
for your knowledge and skill and as an added
bonus…being well compensated!"
Debbie Brown RN,
CNOR, RNFA (2008)
